Yes they would. They'd sit there looking pretty in their display rack, same as every other thing di before they released the calculator.

The only reason people filled the valor monument before the HoM is because they knew it was going to count in the end.

Almost every green can be easily obtainable.
And if they had to chose which "rare" skins can go into the monument, there would be too much and it will just create a mass of "QQ why isn't that skin in ?"
Not everything rare is expensive (take a look at all those overfarmed and old rare weapons).

But surely it would be better to watch your character swinging the weapons and wearing the armor? People don't spend any more than a few minutes every now and then (if any at all) looking at what they've put in so I don't think it would be a worthwhile time/effort investment.

The only problem is many greens and golds are worth 1k this point. They obviously wanted to choose things that people would have to play for, either raising cash or doing the missions.

Not for me to say the work behind the scenes to get it to work would involve. Just saying it'd be a cool feature - I have a full HOM - as it is however not one of my 9 characters ever use any of the weapons, bar a destroyer shield as part of a defensive set - would be nice to see the weapons they actually use in the monument.

No problem if you disagree, my 2.5 cents anyway.

/notsigned along with everyone else.

Except for maybe Torments, I wouldn't say that Destro or Opp weapons are any more prestigious than random greens, but i'd rather have LESS usueless crap required to fill out my HoM, not more.

So far, my Derv, Sin, and Ele are enjoying their tormented Scythe/Dagger/Focus while the rest of the destroyer and oppressor crap is either wallowing somewhere in seldom used heroes or was salvaged for mats ages ago. Sure greens can at least be used to equip heroes, but the HoM is about the achievements of your own Toon, not what he equipped his companions with.
